The route circles the 1,752-meter-high Asitz and offers spectacular views of the Leoganger Steinberge, the Saalfelden Basin, and, on clear days, even the Berchtesgaden Alps. The trail is well-maintained and suitable for less experienced hikers.
The starting point is the Asitzbahn mountain station, easily accessible by gondola, making this hike ideal as a half-day tour. Along the trail, there are numerous rest areas and mountain huts where you can pause and enjoy regional specialties. The tour is approximately 7 kilometers long and takes about 2 to 3 hours to complete.
Birnhorntour (2.634 m)

The hike starts at the Grießenkar parking lot and leads over alpine paths and steep sections up to the summit at 2,634 meters. This tour is only suitable for experienced mountaineers with good fitness and surefootedness.
The total duration is approximately 6 to 7 hours, with an elevation gain of around 1,600 meters. The descent follows partly demanding routes, and avalanche and weather conditions should be carefully checked before starting the tour.
